El presente trabajo se centra en la importancia que ostentó la arquitectura medieval a lo largo del siglo XIX y los comienzos del XX, no sólo en el pensamiento de la época sino también en la formación de los arquitectos del momento.
Destacados monumentos como la Catedral de León y la Real Colegiata de San Isidoro de la misma ciudad fueron objeto de estudio y consideración por parte de figuras tan notables como Luís Domènech Montaner y Rafael Masó Valentí. Las anotaciones y reflexiones que sobre estos realizaron, así como las imágenes que captaron en forma de fotografías y dibujos, inéditas hasta el presente estudio, son una importante fuente de información sobre el estado de estos monumentos en aquel momento.

The present paper is focused on the importance that medieval architecture held throughout the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, not only in the thinking of the time but also in the training of the architects of this period. Outstanding monuments such as the Cathedral of León and the Royal Collegiate Church of Saint Isidoro in the same city will be studied by such notable figures as Luís Domènech Montaner and Rafael Masó Valentí. Their annotations and reflections, as well as their unpublished pictures, are an important source of information to know what was the state of these monuments at that time.
