El arpa ha dejado una notable huella en la cultura de Galicia a través de su historia y su presencia simbólica en las artes y las letras. El presente artículo tiene como objeto el estudio del arpa con base en su evolución en la denominada «cultura celta», en la literatura gallega y su uso en la actualidad. El arpa celta está completamente integrada en la música folk en el noroeste peninsular y convive junto al arpa clásica, también conocida como «de concierto» o «de pedal», y otras como «el arpa de dos órdenes de cuerdas». En el ámbito literario, distintos escritores han hecho alusión a este instrumento, como es el caso de Rosalía de Castro y Curros Enríquez en el Rexurdimento.

The harp has left a notable mark on Galician culture through its history and its symbolic presence in the arts and texts. e purpose of this article is to study the harp based on its evolution in the so-called «Celtic culture», in Galician literature and its use today. The Celtic harp is fully integrated into folk music in the northwest of the peninsula, and coexists with the classical harp, also known as «concert harp» or «pedal harp», and others such as «the harp with two rows of strings». In the literary field, different writers have made reference to this instrument, as in the case of Rosalía de Castro and Curros Enríquez in the Resurgence.
