El Partido de Chivilcoy a través de los primeros censos de la República: fisonomía y maquinarias agrícolas

    El partido de Chivilcoy se convirtió en un distrito representativo de la economía triguera a fines del siglo XIX, siendo una de las regiones que mejor expresa la expansión de la producción y la maquinaria agrícola. El presente trabajo se propone analizar el perfil de los titulares de maquinaria residentes en el partido de Chivilcoy, así como la extensión y producción de sus hectáreas entre la segunda mitad del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX. El análisis se va a realizar mediante un examen de los datos generales reflejados en el Censo Nacional de 1869, el Censo de la Provincia de Buenos Aires de 1881, el Segundo Censo Nacional de 1895 y el Tercer Censo Nacional de 1914 partiendo de la observación de algunos cuarteles del partido extraídos del boletín de agricultura del año 1895. De esta forma pretendemos desarrollar una descripción que nos permita visibilizar la fisonomía de los productores de maíz y trigo en el partido de Chivilcoy para aproximarnos a su importancia productiva como su vitalidad agrícola.

    The Chivilcoy party became a representative district of the wheat economy at the end of the 19th century, being one of the regions that best expresses the expansion of agricultural production and machinery. The present work intends to analyze the profile of the machinery holders resident in the Chivilcoy party, as well as the extension and production of their hectares between the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. The analysis will be carried out by means of a comparison through the general data reflected in the National Census of 1869, the Census of the Province of Buenos Aires of 1881, the Second National Census of 1895 and the Third National Census of 1914 and of the observation of barracks 1,2,3,4 and 5 of the Chivilcoy party taken from the agriculture bulletin of the year 1895 In this way we intend to develop a description that allows us to make visible the physiognomy of corn and wheat producers in the Chivilcoy party to understand their productive importance as their agricultural vitality.
