The species of foraminifera described by Rögl & Bolli as Globigerina clarkei n.sp. should be placed in the genus Globigerinita. It is the most resistent species to dissolution among the Recent planktonic foraminifera. Its stratigraphic range is from the Upper Miocene to Recent, it is eurythermic and now dwelling in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Ocean.
