El propósito de esta reflexión sobre migración y justicia es tratar de mostrar que la gran tragedia que vive nuestro mundo hoy, con cien millones de desplaza-dos, migrantes y refugiados, según el último informe de acnur, es el resultado de un mundo roto por las injusticias, como lo demuestran economistas como Joseph E. Stiglitz, entre otros, quienes afirman que el 1% de la población es poseedora de los bienes que le corresponderían al 99% restante. Las migraciones y los desplazamientos son generados por las injusticias. Podríamos afirmar, entonces, como lo señala Göran Therborn, que estamos rodeados de los campos de exterminio de la desigualdad y que esta desigualdad y esta injusticia matan. Es una llamada de atención porque esta realidad, que es una verdadera tragedia que vive nuestro mundo, necesita ser apropiada con mayor intensidad y hondura por la reflexión teológica. Este es uno de los grandes desafíos que nos presentan hoy los signos de los tiempos.

The purpose of this reflection on migration and justice is to try to show that the great tragedy that our world is experiencing today, with one hundred millions of displaced people, migrants, and refugees, according to the latest unhcr (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) report, is the result of a world broken by injustice, as shown by economists such as Joseph E. Stiglitz, among others, who affirm that 1% of the population owns the goods that would correspond to the remaining 99%. Migration and displacement are generated by injustice. We could say, then, as Göran Therborn points out, that we are surrounded by the killing fields of inequality and that this inequality and injustice kills.It is a wake-up call because this reality, which is a real tragedy that our world is experiencing, needs to be appropriated with greater intensity and depth by theological reflection. This is one of the great challenges presented to us today by the signs of the times.
