Resumen de Ciberfeminismos para el cambio de siglo. Discusiones ciberfeministas entre 1997 y 2001

Entre 1997 y 2001, el colectivo ciberfeminista Old Boys Network (OBN) organizó tres Internacionales Ciberfeministas. El objetivo de este artículo es definir los cambios en el pensamiento ciberfeminista durante este periodo. Para ello, acudo a las tres publicaciones que acompañaron a dichos encuentros. Con un primer análisis cuantitativo localizo los temas fundamentales y su frecuencia. Con un segundo análisis cualitativo, describo el devenir de los debates localizados previamente. Concluyo que, en contra de las aproximaciones históricas previas que dividen el ciberfeminismo en dos olas delimitadas, el ciberfeminismo se desarrolló de manera fluida, proponiendo y escenificando debates fundamentales como la definición del término, su sujeto político, su relación con el feminismo, entre otros. OBN, más que punto de inflexión, fue bisagra entre un primer ciberfeminismo inicial y todas sus posteriores ramificaciones. Sus publicaciones testificaron, también, la creciente preocupación por un internet progresivamente mercantilizado y controlado.

Between 1997 and 2001, the cyberfeminist collective Old Boys Network (OBN) organized three Cyberfeminist Internationals. The main aim of this article is to define the evolution of the cyberfeminist thinking during these years. In order to do this, I analyze their three correspondent publications. Through a first quantitative analysis I find the main discussion topics, and its frequency. Later, through a qualitative comparative analysis, I describe the evolution of the previously found topics. I conclude that, contrary to previous historical approaches, which divide cyberfeminism into two defined waves, its evolution was gradual, with parallel diverse responses to main debates such as the definition of the term, its political subject, its relationship with feminism, among others. OBN, more than a turning point, was an ongoing path between a first initial cyberfeminism, and all its later ramifications. The publications also witnessed the growing concern about a progressively commercialized and controlled internet.
