    Desde diversas y particulares operatorias las artistas latinoamericanas han edificado un corpus creativo donde su propio cuerpo se ha convertido en eje de indagación y (re)descubrimiento de nuevas cuestiones y lenguajes, tomando el espacio público como escenario de sus acciones. Poner y exponer el cuerpo, valerse de nuevas estrategias para discursar en torno a problemáticas de su contexto y su género, desde el simbolismo de elementos naturales como el agua, la sangre y la tierra, se ha convertido en el sustento artístico y teórico de importantes creadoras. Una aproximación hacia los significados, la connotación y la trascendencia que ha tenido la acción de mujeres creadoras en el espacio público, desde su emplazamiento directo a partir del cuerpo como nota distintiva del arte latinoamericano de las últimas décadas, constituye la línea de enfoque del presente ensayo.

    From various and particular operations, Latin American artists have built a creative corpus where their own body has become the axis of inquiry and (re)discovery of new questions and languages, taking the public space as the stage for their actions. Placing and exposing the body, making use of new strategies to discuss issues of its context and its genre, from the symbolism of natural elements such as water, blood and earth, has become the artistic and theoretical support of important creators. An approximation towards the meanings, the connotation and the transcendence that the action of creative women has had in the public space, from its direct location from the body as a distinctive note of Latin American art in recent decades, constitutes the line of focus of the present trial.
