Resumen de Intersecções entre o mito das Amazonas e a lenda das Icamiabas em terras Tupiniquins: Ci, a mãe do mato

  Neste artigo, buscamos revisitar o romance Macunaíma, publicado em 1928 por Mário de Andrade, e hoje um clássico da cultura brasileira, com foco analítico na personagem Ci, a Mãe do Mato, amor eterno do herói. Na obra, constata-se uma revisitação às lendas da Icamiabas, a partir do diálogo com o mito grego das Amazonas, em que a personagem que é dotada de força física e vive a sexualidade e a maternidade de forma livre dos padrões, reivindica sua autonomia. Apesar de sofrer violência em uma luta desigual com o herói, ao escolher a partida para o céu, contra a vontade de Macunaíma, Ci afirma sua subjetividade e individualidade feminina.

  In this article, we seek to revisit the novel Macunaíma, published in 1928 by Mário de Andrade, and today a classic of Brazilian culture, with analytical focus on the character Ci, the Mother of the Jungle, the hero's eternal love. In the work, there is a revisiting of the legends of the Icamiabas, through dialogue with the Greek myth of the Amazons, in which the character, endowed with physical strength and living sexuality and motherhood freely from the standards, claims her autonomy. Despite suffering violence in an unequal fight with the hero, by choosing to depart for the sky against Macunaíma's will, Ci affirms her feminine subjectivity and individuality.
