  • The analysis proposed in this essay aims to emphasize the dangerous assonances and intermingling between the new forms that power is taking in the context of global law and those peculiar to mafia criminal power, which the crisis of legality understood as a crisis of the limitation of power may entail. As a matter of fact, in the transformations underway, the latter kind of power seems to present particularly fertile characteristics: since it is a premodern type of power (based on the protectionobedience relationship), it risks becoming the paradigm of power in the contemporary world.
