  • Resumen
    • It appeared necessary to us to examine the systematic position of the Carinocythereis gr. carinata (ROEMER) from the Bay of Biscay before concluding the ecological study of this group which is under way.

In the specific group Carinocythereis carinata (ROEMER) are distinguished two forms: "A" and "B" which differ in the young as in the adults by the configuration of the ventral ridge.

These two forms differ aqually in their bathymetric dispersion.

Also, the ontogenic developpment of these two forms is parallel; the adults undergo the same phenotypic variations.

Form "A" corresponds to species Carinocythereis carinata (ROEMER).

Form "B" corresponds to species Carinocythereis antiquata (BAIRD).
