    This article, by the study of the formation of the aldeamentos or colonial villages in the Amazon backwoods, tries to analyze the relationships between the politics for the Indians and the indigenous politics in the Amazon during the second half of the eighteen century. For that, we will be aware for the context of the period and the interest of the Portuguese Crow (represented by the colonial officials) in the foundation of the settlements. For the other side, we will try to understand the interest and the politics of the Indians about the same practice: the foundation of the aldeamentos and colonial villages.

    Este artigo, através da análise das formações de aldeamentos ou vilas coloniais nos sertões da Amazônia, pretende analisar as relações entre as políticas indígenas e as políticas indigenistas na Amazônia durante a segunda metade do século XVIII. Para tanto, levaremos em consideração o contexto do período e os interesses da Coroa portuguesa (representada pelos oficiais coloniais) na fundação de povoados. Por outro lado, tentaremos entender os interesses e as políticas dos índios em relação à mesma prática: a fundação de vilas e aldeamentos coloniais.
