This article aims to investigate some aspects of the High Roman Empire themselves related, in particular, spatial mobility, ethnic identity and cultural hybridism. For this purpose, will be addressed such issues regarding the Christian movement, examining its establishment and spread in the Empire, and in the end, focusing on a case study of the Marian case in the third century AD.

O presente artigo tem por objetivo investigar alguns aspectos próprios do Alto Império Romano relacionados, em especial, à mobilidade espacial, a identidade étnica e a hibridismo cultural. Para esse fim, serão abordados tais aspectos concernentes ao movimento cristão, examinando seu estabelecimento e difusão no Império, bem como, ao final, focando-se em um estudo de caso da questão mariana no século III d.C.
