El objetivo de este ensayo es analizar la radicalidad de la microhistoria de Carlo Ginzburg analizando algunas de sus contribuciones más recientes (pero abarcando el reflejo de toda una vida) y mostrando cómo sus estudios de caso, leídos juntos, son capaces de revelar algo extremadamente macro: el comportamiento europeo hacia el otro a largo plazo, tanto cronológico como espacial. En definitiva, a través del análisis de pistas presentes en parte de su investigación, esperamos descifrar qué es más general y amplio (en el sentido microanalítico del término) en el pensamiento de Ginzburg, y así presentar la radicalidad de su proyecto historiográfico experimental y la irrelevancia de pensar sobre la microhistoria de este autor en términos de escala y una separación radical entre análisis crónicos y diacrónicos.

The aim of this essay is to examine the radicality of Carlo Ginzburg's microhistory by analyzing some of its most recent contributions (but encompassing the reflection of a lifetime) and showing how their case studies, read together, are able to reveal something extremely macro: European behavior towards “the other” in the long term, both chronological and spatial. In short, through the analysis of clues present in part of his research, we hope to decipher what is more general and broader (in the microanalytical sense of the term) in Ginzburg's thought, thus revealing the radicality of his experimental historiographic project and the irrelevance of thinking about the micro-history of this author in terms of scale and a radical separation between synchronic and diachronic analyses
