Resumen de Federico Santa María Carrera: filántropo, visionario y emprendedor para el proletariado de su patria

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo conocer los orígenes del filántropo chileno Federico Santa María. Para ello, se utilizaron las fuentes literarias de tipo bibliográficoperiodísticas, fotografías y fuentes archivísticas del Archivo Histórico Municipal de Valparaíso. Los resultados de la investigación permiten evidenciar que la persona de Federico Santa María su espíritu emprendedor e innovador, el apego por su patria y la sensibilidad social que desarrolló a inicios del siglo XX. Sus aportes contribuyeron al progreso material y cultural de Chile. Dio un espacio a los hijos de obreros sin recursos materiales, estimulo el intelecto, disciplina y aptitudes de muchos trabajadores dándoles la oportunidad de desarrollarse y ser exitosos

The objective of this work is to know the origins of the Chilean philanthropist Federico Santa María. For this, literary sources of a bibliographical-journalistic type, photographs and archival sources of the Municipal Historical Archive of Valparaíso were used. The results of the investigation allow us to show that the person of Federico Santa María, his entrepreneurial and innovative spirit, the attachment to his country and the social sensitivity that he developed at the beginning of the 20th century. His contributions contributed to the material and cultural progress of Chile. He gave a space to the children of workers without material resources, stimulated the intellect, discipline and aptitudes of many workers giving them the opportunity to develop and be successful.
