The aim of this paper is to analyse the reception of the Lost Generation novels in the Catalan literary criticism between 1949 and 1960. In this field, the relationships that are established between the different cultural systems can be described in terms of exports and imports that take part, on one hand and from a Catalan cultural perspective, in the establishment of a continuity of narrative tradition, marked by the explosive emergence of a new generation, and on the other hand, in the capacity for transgressing cultural inertia and habits determined by the dictatorship through the adaptation of a literature that was, at that time, seen as an exponent of technical and formal innovation.
