    El derretimiento del Ártico desgraciadamente es una realidad tangible y demostrada por un elevado número de científicos que investigan en prestigiosas universidades y en observatorios del propio Ártico, y han destacado de forma científica que la situación cambiará previsiblemente de forma muy notable para el año 2065. Este cambio traerá, entre otras importantes consecuencias, la apertura de nuevas rutas de navegación más baratas y eficientes, lo que implicará ahorro de tiempo de navegación y, por lo tanto, de combustible, es decir, menos emisiones contaminantes a la atmósfera, muy especialmente en la denominada Ruta Transpolar. Sobre el Ártico existe un abundante cuerpo legislativo, no obstante, es de suponer que estos cambios físicos en la zona implicarán nuevos problemas competenciales y como resultado será necesario establecer nuevos marcos legales para esta nueva realidad, que según los expertos en la materia sería conveniente comenzar lo antes posible. Hay que recordar que por parte de todos los implicados en estos estudios, esta situación no la consideran como una ventaja, sino como una consecuencia sobrevenida del deshielo.

    The melting of the Arctic is unfortunately a tangible reality which has been demonstrated by many scientists researching in prestigious universities and observatories in the Arctic itself. They have highlighted that the situation is expected to change significantly by the year 2065. This change will bring the opening of new, cheaper and more efficient navigation routes, which will imply savings in navigation time and therefore in fuel, i.e., less polluting emissions into the atmosphere, especially in the so-called Transpolar Route. In the Arctic there is a large legislative body, however, these physical changes in the area will involve new competence issues, and therefore it will be necessary to establish new legal frameworks for this new reality which, according to experts in the field, it would be advisable to start at the earliest. It must be taken into consideration that all those involved in these studies do not consider this situation as an advantage, but as a consequence of the thaw.
