    El presente artículo aborda las bases filosóficas que originaron el desarrollo de las diversas teorías transhumanistas, corrientes de pensamiento que han cobrado gran relevancia en la actualidad. Además, se detallan los principales postulados filosóficos sobre los que se cimientan dichas corrientes de pensamiento, a partir de las cuales se realiza un análisis sobre el distanciamiento que presenta el modelo transhumanista con el modelo humanista moderno. También se plantea la necesidad imperante de una reflexión crítica y profunda desde las humanidades, en cuanto a los dilemas que surgen como producto del desarrollo y la implementación de las tecnologías convergentes, que constituyen el medio por el cual las diferentes corrientes transhumanistas pueden materializarse.

    This article addresses the philosophical bases that originated the development of the various transhumanist theories, a school of thought that has become highly relevant today. In addition, this study details the main philosophical assumptions on which this school of thought is based. Furthermore, from these assumptions it is made an analysis of the distancing of the transhumanist model from the modern humanist model and about the urgent need for a critical and profound reflection carried out by the humanities regarding the dilemmas that arise as a product of the development and implementation of convergent technologies, which constitute how transhumanism can materialize.
