  • Resumen
    • Villa La Quiete in Florence was the seat of the women’s boarding school founded by Leonora Ramirez of Montalvo in 1650. She was helped by noblewomen who belonged to the Lay congregation «Ancille della SS. Trinità» called Montalve, who have carried out their task of educators for over three centuries. A unicum in the field of training and education of the daughters of many noble and aristocratic families from the Grand Duchy of Tuscany and other Italian States. The documents and manuscripts, consulted for this work, are in the precious Historical Archive still present in the Villa. A database has been created with names, surnames, noble titles of parents, personal and provenance of about 1300 girls who were educated at Villa la Quiete from 1650 to 1950. These data made possible to trace the social identity of the guests and to get multiple information
