  Se presenta un análisis y reflexión acerca de la contribución de la cultura de paz a laeducación y se describe y analiza la aproximación filosófica y pedagógica denominadaaprendizaje-servicio, que se propone como una alternativa viable para fomentar la culturade paz y la formación ciudadana en las instituciones de educación superior. Asimismo, sedescriben diversas iniciativas en las que se ha aplicado esta pedagogía, cuyos resultadosdan cuenta de la toma de conciencia social, la asunción de responsabilidad colectiva y elsentido de agencia que se desarrolla en el estudiantado que participa en estas iniciativas.Palabras clave: Aprendizaje - Servicio, Ciudadania, Cultura de Paz, Formación cívica yIntervención Comunitaria

  This article reflects on the contributions of the culture of peace to education and analyzesthe philosophical and pedagogical approach of service-learning-, which is proposed as asuitable alternative to promote the culture of peace and citizenship in higher educationinstitutions. It also describes a number of initiatives in which this pedagogy has beenapplied, the results of which give an account of the social awareness, the assumption ofcollective responsibility and the sense of agency that develops in the students whoparticipate in these initiatives.Key words: Service-Learning, Citizenship, Civic Education, Peace Culture, CommunityIntervention
