  • The aim of this paper is to provide a repertoire of the currently identifiable zoonyms in the Phoenician language. The available data are collected, presented, and analysed. Several animal names are directly mentioned in Phoenician inscriptions, but they also are attested as constituting elements of personal names, names of plant and names of place. Some texts by classical authors are also discussed.
