La práctica profesional en la Universidad de Panamá: el caso de la Facultad de Economía del Centro Regional Universitario de Azuero, 2013-2017.

    La práctica profesional constituye la opción al trabajo de graduación más importante en la facultad de Economía del CRUA (64% de los graduados entre 2013 y 2017). Se realizó un análisis de la experiencia de esta práctica profesional, utilizando como metodología el marco regulatorio existente, así como los informes elaborados por los estudiantes y las evaluaciones realizadas por las instituciones al estudiante. Un 52% de los estudiantes la realizaron en bancos públicos y privados, un 34% en cooperativas y un 14% en aseguradoras; ejercieron funciones muy vinculadas con el perfil de egreso de la carrera; y los estudiantes fueron evaluados por las organizaciones usuarias con nota “excelente” o “muy buena”. Su costo es de aproximadamente B/.872.50. La práctica profesional, representa para el estudiante graduando una oportunidad de acercamiento al mundo laboral y se estima que alrededor de un 20% de los estudiantes practicantes, al culminar su práctica profesional, obtienen un contrato de trabajo en la empresa donde practicaron.

    The professional practicum is the most important option as a graduation work in the Faculty of Economics at CRUA (64% of graduates between 2013 and 2017). An analysis of the experience of this professional practicum was made, using as a methodological procedure of the existing regulatory framework, as well as the reports prepared by the students and the evaluations made by the institutions to each student. 52% of the students realized the practicum in public and private banks, 34% in cooperatives, and 14% in insurance companies; they performed functions closely related to the graduation profile of the career; and the students were evaluated by the organizations where the students did their practicum with "excellent" or "very good" grades. The practicum cost is of about B/. 872.50. The professional practicum represents for the undergraduate student an opportunity to get involved with the working world and it is estimated that about 20% of the students doing the practicum would obtain, upon completing their professional practice, a work contract in the company where they realized their practicum.
