Intervención educativa sobre la hipertensión arterial en pacientes del consultorio médico no.13 Guáimaro

    La hipertensión arterial es una de las enfermedades más comunes. Es un problema sanitario extraordinario, permanece asintomática hasta etapas tardías de su evolución, existen cerca de un billón de hipertensos a nivel mundial, con una mortalidad de 15 millones por año. Se realizó un estudio de intervención a pacientes mayores de 35 años del Consultorio No 13, perteneciente al Policlínico Victoria de Girón, Guáimaro, en el período comprendido entre octubre 2017 y junio 2019, con el objetivo de incrementar el nivel de conocimientos sobre la hipertensión arterial. El universo de estudio estuvo constituido por 75 pacientes diagnosticados y la muestra por 54 de ellos. La información se obtuvo de los datos proporcionados del cuestionario, validado por criterio de expertos, que constituyó el registro primario. Se procesó de forma computarizada y se presentó en tablas y texto. El grupo de edades más afectado correspondió al de 65-74 años, predominó el sexo femenino. Antes de la intervención educativa la mayor parte de los participantes mostraron conocimiento insuficiente en todos los aspectos sobre hipertensión arterial, de forma general prevaleció el bajo nivel cognitivo; después de aplicado el programa educativo la mayoría de ellos tuvieron conocimiento suficientes en los aspectos evaluados y un nivel alto en la evaluación general. Se concluye que la intervención resultó factible y efectiva para el conocimiento de la hipertensión arterial, se elevaron los niveles de comprensión y se logró mayor calidad de vida de los pacientes estudiados.
