Activismo sindical en la profesión docente

    El activismo sindical, como toda actividad humana que no puede hacerse con total independencia de las otras que realiza el mismo sujeto, tendrá influencias en el desenvolvimiento del profesorado en su accionar profesional. El presente estudio provee una aproximación, por un lado, a las diferencias en materia de activismo sindical que presenta el personal docente de dos centros educativos de gestiones de naturalezas distintas, a saber, uno de gestión pública, otro de gestión semiprivada; y, por el otro lado, se acerca a los sentidos que ambos grupos dan a su pertenencia al sindicato, en lo que respecta tanto a su autopercepción en cuanto miembros activos del gremio, como a las reflexiones que se realizan en torno al sindicato, su función social y su deber frente a la educación. Se trabajó con una muestra no probabilística escogida a conveniencia de dos centros educativos con docentes miembros del sindicato que voluntariamente participaron de la investigación; se les aplicó un instrumento que recoge la propia percepción de su nivel de activismo, así como su activismo real y sus reflexiones en torno al papel de su gremio. Se halló un mayor nivel de activismo en los docentes del centro público que en los del centro de gestión semiprivada; además, la autopercepción de los participantes en materia de activismo sindical resultó ser coherente con su actividad y apoyo al sindicato, y se evidencia una crítica por parte de los participantes que, en términos generales, entienden que su gremio tiene oportunidades de mejora en lo que atañe a su contribución con un aumento de la calidad educativa.

    Trade union activism, like any human activity that cannot be done with complete independence from the other things that the same subject performs, will have an influence on the development of teachers in their professional activities. The present study provides an approximation, on the one hand, to the di?erences in trade union activism presented  by the personal teacher of two educational centers of di?erent nature management, namely, one of public management, another of semi-private management; and on the other hand, it is approaching to the senses that both groups give to their union membership, as regards both their self-perception as active members of the union, and the reflections that are made around the union, its social function and its duty to education. Worked out with a non-probabilistic sample, chosen at the convenience, of two educational centers with teachers, members of the union who voluntarily participated in the research; an instrument was applied to them, that reflects their own perception of their level of activism, as well as their real activism and their reflections on the role of their trade union. A higher level of activism was found in teachers in the public school than in those in the private management school; In addition, the participants’ self-perception about their trade union activism proved to be consistent with their activity and support for the union, and there was a criticism from the participants who, broadly speaking, understand that their union has opportunities for improvement in terms of its contribution to increase the educational quality.
