  Este texto trata de responder a la pregunta de si las mujeres canarias se incorporaron de manera diferencial a los hombres canarios dentro de la imagen estereotipada, etnocéntrica e idealizada propia del mito de Las Afortunadas, a través de las referencias a las características de las personas habitantes de las Islas Canarias que encontramos en una selección de las fuentes narrativas de los siglos XV al XVII.

  This paper tries to indicate whether native Canarian women were incorporated in a differential way to men within the stereotyped, ethnocentric, and romanticised image of the myth of Fortunate Islands, through the references to the characteristics of the inhabitants of the Canary Islands that we find in a selection of narrative sources from the 15th to the 17th centuries
