En este artículo se realiza un recorrido historiográfico sobre lo producido acerca del diario carlo-integrista El Siglo Futuro de Madrid (1875-1936), fundado por Ramón Nocedal. Esta fue una de las publicaciones más representativas del panorama periodístico contrarrevolucionario español entre los siglos XIX y XX. Al estar envuelto en cuantiosas polémicas, El Siglo Futuro fue objeto de anatemas constantes por la prensa coetánea y la posterior historiografía. Sin negar el tono oscurantista que caracterizó su trayectoria, las investigaciones recientes explotan la reticente adaptación del periódico a la modernidad para combatir contra el régimen saguntino y sobre todo contra la II República.

In this article, a historiographic review is made of what was produced about the Carlo-Integrist newspaper El Siglo Futuro of Madrid (1875-1936), founded by Ramón Nocedal. This was one of the most representative publications of the Spanish counterrevolutionary journalistic panorama between the 19th and 20th centuries. Being involved in numerous controversies, El Siglo Futuro was the object of constant anathemas by the contemporary press and subsequent historiography. Without denying the obscurantist tone that characterized its trajectory, recent investigations exploit the newspaper’s reluctant adaptation to modernity to fight against the Saguntine regime and, above all, against the Second Republic.
