Resumen de Uso de la ortopedia funcional de los maxilares en el tratamiento de maloclusiones de clase I y II de ANGLE

  Se realizó un estudio de intervención longitudinal prospectivo para evaluar el uso de la Ortopedia Funcional de los Maxilares en el tratamiento de maloclusiones de Clase I y II de Ángulo en pacientes de 6 a 14 años que asistieron a la consulta de Ortodoncia de la Clínica Estomatológica “3 de Octubre” en la provincia de Las Tunas, durante el período de septiembre (2016) a febrero (2019). El universo estuvo integrado por todos los pacientes con maloclusiones de Clase I y II de Ángulo que acudieron al servicio de Ortodoncia en el período antes mencionado, y la muestra quedó constituida por 49 pacientes que cumplieron con el criterio de inclusión. A cada paciente se le aplicó variables clínicas al inicio y al final del tratamiento y se determinó el porciento de mejoría para evaluar la respuesta del tratamiento. Se utilizaron el estudio aparatos funcionales como el Klammt Clase I, Klammt Clase II división I y las Pistas Planas Indirectas para neutroclusión y distoclusión. Predominó el grupo de edad de 9 a 11 años. Al finalizar el tratamiento mejoraron las variables clínicas de sobrepase, resalte, relación molar, perfil y relación transversal en una parte de la muestra. Los resultados más favorables en el resalte se lograron con el Klammt Clase II división I y en el sobrepase con las Pistas Planas Indirectas. La principal complicación fue la sobreexpansión del maxilar superior. Se llegó a la conclusión de que la Ortopedia Funcional de los Maxilares es efectiva en gran parte de la muestra.

  An study of longitudinal intervention was carried out to evaluate the use of The Functional Orthopedics of the Maxillars in the treatment of malocclusions of Type I and II of Angle in patients from six to fourteen years old that attended the consult of Orthodontics of the Stomatological clinic “3 de octubre” in Las Tunas province, during the period of September 2016 to February 2019. The universe was integrated by all patients with malocclusions of Type I and II of Angle who went to service of Orthodontics in the period mentioned before. The sample was constituted by 49 patients that fulfilled the inclusion criteria. To each patient was applied clinical variable from the beginning to the end of the treatment and the percent of improvement was determined to evaluated the success of the treatment. They were used in the study functional devices as Klammt Type I, Klammt Type II division I and the Planas´ Indirect Tracks for neutroclusión and distoclusión. The group of 9-11 year-old age prevailed. When concluding the treatment the clinical variables of overbite, overjet, molar relation, profile and transversal relation were improved in a part of the sample. The most favorable results in the overjet were achieved with the Klammt Type II division I and in the overbite with the Planas ´Indirect Tracks. The main compilation was the overexpansion of the superior maxilla. We reached the conclusion that the Functional Orthopedics of the Maxillars was effective in a long part of the sample.
