This paper exposes two approaches to the analysis of the actions of criticism against injustice: the one developed by Boltanski and Thévenot in their De la Justification model, and the one proposed by Emmanuel Renault. Given that both approaches belong to different disciplines and also different traditions of sociology, they problematize in different ways what is at stake in these actions. However, both rely on a pragmatic understanding of action that leads them to work with and from the point of view of the subjects themselves. In short, the text maintains that the analysis of people’s critical judgments regarding their action situations is enriched and more complex if both approaches are mobilized together.
