    En la presente investigación se realizó un análisis de los elementos que ofrece la historia de la localidad, que juega un papel importante en el proceso de formación de los estudiantes, a pesar del constante trabajo que se realiza, los estudiantes de la Carrera de Turismo corren el riesgo de egresar sin los conocimientos y habilidades necesarias en cuanto al lugar de su residencia, pues no poseen la preparación requerida. Es por ello que se determinó potenciar los recursos turísticos, históricos y culturales del municipio Holguin para elevar la cultura histórica de los estudiantes de la carrera de turismo en la Universidad de Holguin.

    Through the development of this investigation, an analysis and characterization of the subject History of Cuba, included in the curriculum of the Major on Tourism, is made by the author of this thesis, so that a problem was detected:

    the history of different municipalities is not studied. As a result, the scientific problem formulated was the following: How to favour the study and knowledge of the history of the different municipalities in Holguin province, through the teaching-learning process of the subject History of Cuba in the Major on Tourism at the University of Holguin?
