    La autora propone algunas observaciones sobre temas de actualidad: casi tres años de pandemia, la incursión de Rusia sobre Ucrania con graves consecuencias socio políticas y económicas para el mundo. Plantea la pregunta: ¿Qué hemos hecho los psicoanalistas frente a la realidad fáctica y los pacientes que sienten que han perdido su futuro y para quienes el presente resulta angustiante e incierto? La práctica del psicoanálisis tuvo que recurrir a innovaciones en el método. Se plantea el tema del vivir en riesgo, la violencia y, fundamentalmente, del desamparo. En lo individual, y en cada proceso nalítico, se enfrenta el trauma colectivo acorde al propio narcisismo y con las huellas del vínculo con el objeto. Se plantea discriminar qué pertenece a la temporalidad de la realidad fáctica y qué, a la temporalidad pulsional del paciente, y por lo tanto a su subjetividad y a su realidad psíquica. ¿Es la cultura la que marca la línea de fuego en la que nos encontramos nosotros y el planeta? ¿Puede el ser humano prescindir de su “impulso” a la destructividad? La cultura contemporánea en la que se superponen lenguajes, tiempos y proyectos tiene una trama plural con múltiples ejes problemáticos. ¿El vivir en riesgo estaría relacionado con la pulsión de muerte podría ser ponerse del lado de Eros para contrarrestar la inacción que produce la depresión o el miedo?

    Culture in the line of fire: violence and risk. Challenges for psychoanalytic practice. Some observations are made on current issues: almost three years of pandemic and Russia’s incursion over Ukraine, with serious socio-political and economic consequences for the world. The question is posed: What have we psychoanalysts done in the face of factual reality and patients who feel they have lost their future, and for whom the present is distressing and uncertain? The practice of psychoanalysis had to resort to innovations in method. The issue of living in situations of risk, violence and, fundamentally, helplessness is raised. Individually, and in each analytical process, the collective trauma is confronted according to the patient’s narcissism and the traces of his or her object bonds. It is proposed to discriminate what belongs to the temporality of factual reality and what to the temporality of patients’ drives, and therefore to their subjectivity and psychic reality. Is it the culture that marks the line of fire on which we and the planet find ourselves? Can the human being dispense with his “impulse to destructiveness”? Contemporary culture, in which languages, times and projects are superimposed, has a plural plot with multiple problematic axes. Is the fact of living in risk related to the death drive, or is it possible to take the side of Eros to counteract the inaction generated by depression or fear?
