  • In this paper we study the relationship between the Homeric rhapsodies and the Homeric centos, with special reference to Byzantine scholar Eustathius of Thessalonica’s view on this subject as well as that of great german scholars Crusius, Rohde, and Wilamowitz. We also remember with emotion a scientific discussion related to this subject that took place at the beginning of the author’s research activity, between him and Professor Carles Miralles, whose memory we honor.
