  • Resumen
    • This article presents the discussions of the verbal lexeme ἀποδίδωμι in the major New Testament dictionaries with the purpose of demonstrating the principles that have governed previous lexicographical analyses of the Greek New Testament. After examining the characteristics of these dictionaries and analyzing their deficiencies, the four principles that have governed the entries in the Greek-Spanish New Testament Dictionary are presented. The new methodology applied to the entries of this dictionary incorporates structural semantics into lexicography, proposing a new method that systematically distinguishes between meaning and translation, establishing the semantic formula of the lexemes as the basis for constructing their definition, and indicating in each case the contextual(s) factor(s) that produce the changes in meaning of the lexemes. In this manner, Greek lexicography in general and New Testament lexicography in particular make significant advances that will last for the foreseeable future.
