The Lucian’s Toxaris is an example of the rhetorical approach to a subject of long philosophical and literary tradition as it is φιλία, the friendship. In the shape of a dialogue, Lucian presents this unequivocal expression of virtue through various narratives about friendship that tell a Greek and a Scythian; and for the contrast between these two peoples, this work is also often used to prove the values of Greek culture at the Lucian’s time. However, due to abundant traits of school exercices in this work, the aim of this paper is to analyse some of the formal and rhetorical resources that Lucian applies to build the framework of his narratives and how the autor employs his great command of his broad rhetorical training to create with an eminently oral nature the narration of fictitious stories which bring together friendship and are next to the Greek roman plots.
