The author briefly comments on his peculiar situation in this opportunity, not being a member of a College or of any institution whose major interest is ancient Greece and its legacy. He proposes a detailed study in words and meaning of two Seferis’ poems (the very last one of his production and the last of his most celebrated Mythistorima) and tries to link them with the subjects and words cherished by ancient Greeks and between them. In this way he shows the continuity of culture — and therefore in politics and history— in the development of the Greek language.
