Resumen de Assessment of the University Student Governance Amid Pandemic: Basis for Crafting a Pedagogical Student Governance Framework

  • There is a sudden shift in the educational system due to COVID-19 pandemic. Due to this, student organizations also made huge adjustments in their means of accomplishing their targets and goals. Virtual mode of delivery is their main source of communication to the whole student body. This study utilized the sequential explanatory mixed method design. Aided by descriptive statistics, quantitative results showed the participants’ satisfaction level on the identified essential elements of the student governance: leadership practices, policy implementation, student involvement and student support. The participants were generally “very satisfied” and described these elements to be “excellent” and “above average”. The results were duly supported with the followingthemes such as the participants’ experiences and appreciation on the student university governance. The emergence of the student governance framework was formulated, which represents the value of students’ feedback in drafting possible activities for the new student government.
