Rhetorical critics have been called to investigate movements’ group communication. However, the scarcity of verbatim transcripts of movements’ group interactions precludes close analysis of particular interactions. Rather than abandon investigation of movements’ group communication completely, rhetorical critics can examine movements’ selection and general strategies of group communication. Such an approach to investigating the group communication of Maoist insurgent mobilizers reveals new information about the rhetoric of movements
