Resumen de Destrucción y debilitamiento en el medio ambiente del Valle de Culiacán, Sinaloa: deforestación, químicos y semillas mejoradas, 1940-1970

  Actualmente sabemos que la agricultura comercial es una de las actividades que más modifican las zonas naturales. Por ello el objetivo de este trabajo es analizar algunas de las consecuencias negativas que se presentaron durante el apogeo de la agricultura comercial en el Valle de Culiacán entre 1940 y 1970, especialmente en ciertos elementos del medio natural como la vegetación, fauna silvestre, el suelo y cuerpos de agua, entre otros. Esto nos permite mostrar como la ampliación de la frontera agrícola invadió espacios vitales en el medio ambiente autóctono con productos de alto valor comercial, cambiando el paisaje de la franja costera de Sinaloa, especialmente en el centro de la entidad. La transformación que se observó en el Valle de Culiacán fueron producto de la amplia y desarticulada deforestación realizada por los empresarios agrícolas y el uso de productos químicos de amplio espectro que se aplicaron para elevar la producción y controlar las plagas que en ese momento existían.

  We currently know that commercial agriculture is one of the activities that most modify natural areas. Therefore, the objective of this work is to analyze some of the negative consequences that occurred during the heyday of commercial agriculture in Culiacan Valley between 1940 and 1970, especially in certain elements of the natural environment such as vegetation, wildlife, soil and water areas among others. This allows us to show how the expansion of the agricultural frontier invaded vital spaces in the native environment with products of high commercial value, changing the landscape of the strip coast of Sinaloa, especially in the center of the entity. The transformation that Culiacan Valley observed were the product of the extensive and disjointed deforestation carried out by agricultural entrepreneurs and the use of broad-spectrum chemical products that were applied to increase production and control pests that existed at that time.
