Las divinidades y la heroicidad femenina en la novela helenística

    El artículo presenta un análisis de la influencia de las divinidades en la representación heroica de las protagonistas en las novelas helenísticas Leucipa y Clitofonte de Aquiles de Tacio y Etiópicas de Heliodoro. En la propuesta de análisis se identifican los principales elementos asociados a la religión en la novela y su influencia en las representaciones de la heroicidad femenina desde una perspectiva de género. La ayuda brindada por las divinidades tutelares a las jóvenes heroínas les permite enfrentar una serie de pruebas morales públicas cuyo fin es mostrar el carácter de la jóvenes en la adversidad. La objetivación del cuerpo femenino se manifiesta en estas novelas en relación con la virginidad de las protagonistas. Ellas deben preservar los valores de la castidad, la fidelidad y la obediencia al mantener una conducta virtuosa en entornos hostiles y peligrosos. Las divinidades tutelares como Afrodita, Artemis, Eros, Fortuna y Destino ayudan a las jóvenes doncellas mantener los pilares fundamentales del matrimonio, en la sociedad helenística del mundo antiguo.

    The article analyzes the influence of deities in the heroic representation of female main characters in the Hellenistic novels Leucipa and Clitophonte of Achiles of Tacio and Cariclea and Teagenes of Heliodorus. The analysis proposal identifies the main elements related to the influence of religion in the representation of the feminine heroines from a gender perspective. The help provided by the tutelary divinities for the young heroines allows them to face the moral and public tests in order to prove the protagonist’s character in the face of adversity. The objectification of the female body in the novels is presented through the virginity of the main character. The protagonist must preserve the values of chastity, fidelity, and obedience by maintaining a virtuous behavior in hostile and dangerous environments. The tutelary divinities such as Aprhodite, Artemis, Eros, Fortune, and Destiny help the young maidens to sustain the fundamental pillars of matrimony in the Hellenistic society of the ancient world
