El concepto de hominización en los escritos de Ignacio Ellacuría (1930-1989) tiene como punto de partida el paso de la filosofía tomista a la antropología trascendental propuesta por su maestro Karl Rahner en la que, en el proceso de aprehensión, el sujeto cognoscente y el objeto del conocimiento se imbrican mutuamente. De esta manera, se trata de sostener que la ontología fundamental propuesta por Rahner y el dinamismo del ser humano son puntos de partida para la construcción ellacuriana de una antropología filosófica en una etapa posterior de su pensamiento.
