Resumen de Cerâmica Icoaraciense: uma abordagem etnomatemática

  This article aims to discuss the mathematics used in the daily production of Icoaraciense ceramics. Through field research carried out in two potteries located in the district of Icoaraci, in Belém do Pará, we realized that there is a relationship between the production of ceramics and the mathematics used to make the pieces: geometry, symmetry, proportion and percentage. With the help of bibliographical research and images, the work aims to investigate the origins of ceramics, its applications and how potters master it, applying ethnomathematics and commenting on the difference between potters who have school mathematical knowledge and those who only have empirical knowledge. Both use mathematics, with the former exploiting their knowledge much more than the atter. In this way, we show the ethnomathematics used in the potters' daily lives, which can be applied to teaching school mathematics to students in the region, making it easier to understand.

  Este artigo tem a intenção de discutir a matemática usada no cotidiano da produção da Cerâmica Icoaraciense. Percebemos por meio de uma pesquisa de campo feita em duas olarias localizadas no distrito de Icoaraci, em Belém do Pará, que há relação entre a produção de cerâmica e a matemática utilizada na fabricação das peças: geometria, simetria, proporção e porcentagem. Com o auxílio de pesquisas bibliográficas e imagens, o trabalho pretende investigar desde a origem da cerâmica, suas aplicações e a forma como os oleiros a dominam, aplicando a etnomatemática e comentando a diferença que há entre os oleiros que tem conhecimento matemático escolar e os que só possuem a empiria. Ambos utilizam a matemática, sendo que o primeiro explora seus conhecimentos bem mais que o segundo. Assim, mostramos a etnomatemática utilizada no cotidiano dos ceramistas, a qual pode ser aplicada no ensino de matemática escolar para alunos da região, facilitando sua compreensão.
