En el Pacifico del Occidente de México vivieron diferentes culturas que a lo largo de los siglos transformaron el paisaje circundante. Las acciones conscientes de estas personas convirtieron el difícil ambiente de manglares y volcanes en lugares habitables donde podían desarrollar su cultura y economía. Gracias al estudio de paisaje y a la arqueozoología, podemos ver cómo modificaron las pequeñas elevaciones en medio del estero de San Cristóbal en montañas aterrazadas donde pudieron desarrollar la vida cotidiana a lo largo de siglos.

In the Pacific of western Mexico, different cultures lived that over the centuries transformed the surrounding landscape. The conscious actions of these people turned the difficult environment of mangroves and volcanoes into habitable place where they could develop their culture and economy. Thanks to the study of landscape and archaeozoology, we can see how they modified the small elevations in the middle of the San Cristóbal estuary in terraced mountains where they could develop their daily lives over centuries.
