Resumen de La traducción del contenido musical en producciones audiovisuales para adolescentes: entrevistas y encuestas a los agentes involucrados

Franzon (2005, 2008, 2015) y Low (2003a, 2003b, 2005, 2008, 2013) sentaron las bases en la investigación de la traducción de canciones y apuntaban a una necesidad acuciante de realizar análisis más exhaustivos. Por ello, se ha considerado de interés estudiar el proceso traductor desde su origen, preguntando directamente a los agentes disponibles involucrados en la traducción de más de 30 producciones audiovisuales para así obtener datos reales que ayuden a analizar la realidad detrás de la traducción del contenido musical. Este estudio concluye que las canciones se conciben como elementos externos que acompañan a los diálogos y es el cliente quien decide en último caso traducirlas o no. Por su parte, la mayoría de los agentes indicaron que hay que traducir las canciones cuando sean relevantes para la trama. Sin embargo, este criterio normalmente es subjetivo y puede diferir de un especialista a otro.

Franzon (2005, 2008, 2015) and Low (2003a, 2003b, 2005, 2008, 2013) laid the methodological foundations of the research in the current field of song translation and highlighted an urgent need to carry out a more exhaustive analysis. For these reasons, the translation process has been studied from the outset, asking the available agents involved in the translation of more than 30 audiovisual productions to obtain real data which will help analyse the reality behind the translation of musical content. This study concludes that songs are conceived as external elements that accompany dialogues; it is therefore the client who has the final say when it comes to translate or not the songs. Most participating agents agreed that it is not necessary to translate every song that appears in a film, just those that are most relevant. However, this criterion is usually subjective and it can differ from one specialist to another.
