  • Resumen
    • Length -weight relationship, condition factor and size variation in silver pompano Trachinotus blochii at different rearing phases such as nursery, grow out and harvest stages in two different salinity regimes such as marine (> 30 ppt) and low saline conditions (< 15 ppt) have been evaluated. Silver pompano has shown negative allometric growth in all the growing phases except the adult phase in different salinity regimes and the b value ranged between 2.49 to 3.02.Condition factor (k) (ranging from 1.21 to 2.31) shows that the fish perform well in both marine and low saline conditions in all the growth phases. But size variation especially in weight (0.36 to 0.54) as indicated by Coefficient of variation (CV) was higher in all the growing phases which need to be minimised for its sustainable aquaculture practices
