    En los congresos de arquitectura que se desarrollaron hacia mediados de siglo XX en Latinoamérica, se configuró y profundizó el debate en torno a la vinculación entre la profesión, la lucha política y la cuestión social de la vivienda. El artículo apunta a divisar qué papel cumplieron estos encuentros en la circulación regional de ideas y cómo fue la construcción de consensos y divergencias entre los diversos sectores, cuyas diferencias se profundizaron al calor del avance de las corrientes de pensamiento progresistas y de izquierda en todo el continente. Se analizan las actas oficiales y los registros de las revistas de la época que permiten conocer los debates, las estrategias desplegadas por los diferentes sectores, las redes profesionales, los intercambios y el atravesamiento de los contextos particulares.

    In the architecture congresses that took place towards the middle of the 20th century in Latin America, the debate around the link between the profession, the political struggle and the social question of housing was configured and deepened. The article aims to discern what role these meetings played in the regional circulation of ideas and to how was the construction of consensus and divergences between the various sectors, whose differences deepened in the heat of the advance of progressive and left-wing currents of thought throughout the continent. The official minutes and the records of the magazines of the time are analyzed that allow us to know the debates, the strategies deployed by the different sectors, the professional networks, the exchanges and the crossing of the particular contexts.
