Resumen de La censura a la literatura a la luz de la teoría de Thorstein Veblen: Aproximación al caso colombiano

  En el presente artículo de investigación se analiza, según la vertiente basada en Thorstein Veblen, la censura a la literatura como un fenómeno que puede ser considerado una institución por implicar aspectos como el conservadurismo instintivo y la aversión al cambio. Se inicia con un marco conceptual sobre la censura a la literatura y las instituciones, para, en la segunda parte del artículo, ilustrar las ideas principales de la teoría de Veblen sobre las instituciones, y en la tercera examinar cómo este fenómeno puede ser analizado a la luz de la teoría institucional con base en lo que ha sucedido en territorios latinoamericanos como el colombiano. Se encuentra que es posible resaltar la vigencia del pensamiento vebleniano con estudios de este tipo, que nos permiten comprender cómo la censura a la literatura es una institución con características que facilitan que se adapte y siga vigente por generaciones.

  In this investigation article, according to the Thorstein Veblen´s approach, the censorship of literature is analyzed as a phenomenon that can be considered an institution because it involves aspects such as instinctive conservatism and aversion to change. It begins with a conceptual framework on the censorship of literature and institutions, in order to illustrate the main ideas of Veblen’s theory on institutions in the second part of the article, followed in the third part by the examination of how this phenomenon can be analyzed under the light of institutional theory based on what has happened in Latin American territories such as Colombia. It is found that it is possible to highlight the validity of Veblenian thought with studies of this type, which allow us to understand how censorship of literature is an institution with characteristics that facilitate it to adapt and remain in force for generations.
