The present work describes the surprising discovery of a bibliographical rarity from the XIX century, which bears the title of “Administrative Law Lessons”, and which is considered the first book written on this legal discipline in Latin America; for this purpose, a brief inquiry is made about the circumstances of its appearance and the repercussions that that book had in its place of origin (Mexico), to later point out its influence on the subsequent development of the discipline during the twentieth century in Bolivia, until the elaboration of new studies at the beginning of the XXI century; all with the sole purpose of highlighting the importance of doctrine as an indispensable source to guide the teaching of Administrative Law in Bolivia
