The text presented here tells the life story of a Zoque indigenous living in the state of Nuevo León. This story is related to a sociocultural imaginary that remains in the novel Nothing Less than a Whole Man by the philosopher Miguel de Unamuno. In the final part, a brief analytical synthesis of this intersected story is integrated from categories derived from the reading described above and from the masculinities and gender studies of men. This work aims to incite, through a transdisciplinary resource, a series of reflections regarding the situation that indigenous men live in the city and the existential vicissitudes involved in seeing their masculinities conflicted in contexts where they are not organized in the same way or under the same cultural precepts.
