Naturaleza, discursos y lenguajes de valoración

    Situándonos en el contexto de la profunda conflictividad emergente en torno a los modos de producción/apropiación de la naturaleza que marca distintivamente la época contemporánea, en el presente trabajo procuramos exponer la potencia ontológico-política del ecologismo popular, entendiéndolo más que como discurso disidente, como un lenguaje de valoración (Martínez Alier, 2002) radicalmente alternativo. Una lengua re-existente (Porto Goncalves, 2003) que, en lugar de plantear un lenguaje otro para hablar sobre la Naturaleza, se ofrece como lengua que procura entender-nos con la naturaleza; incluso, desde y como naturaleza.

    En sí, más que de una “lengua minorizada”, se trata de una lengua radicalmente denegada como tal. Pues estamos ante un sistema de enunciación y de producción de sentido que –desde sus orígenes hasta nuestros días– fuera sistemáticamente (mal)tratado como no-lengua, es decir, como “algo” absoluta e insanablemente carente de logos.

    Analizamos este despojo originario como momento fundacional del discurso que la Modernidad/colonialidad hegemónica instaurara como racionalidad presumida única para aludir a y dar cuenta de “la naturaleza”. Este discurso que se erige a partir de la (auto)atribución del lugar universal de enunciación ha operado como maquinaria semiótico-política de uniformización del mundo “realmente existente”. Como tal, se trata de un acontecimiento que cabe ser situado en los orígenes del Capitaloceno como uno de sus principales vectores etiológicos. Más allá de significativos cambios que a lo largo de las sucesivas declinaciones históricas ha ido adquiriendo, nos interesa identificar un núcleo duro de presupuestos metafísicos y axiomas instituyentes que –sostenemos– siguen operando con implacable eficacia en cuanto régimen de verdad desde donde se traza la frontera entre lo pensable/enunciable y el abismo de lo irracional absoluto.

    De manera complementaria, nos interesa especialmente analizar las particularidades específicas de la inflexión neoliberal de dicho discurso, concibiéndolo como parte de la sintomatología del presente y como formación discursiva actualizada desde la cual se produce la renovada operación de impugnación/expropiación de las condiciones de enunciación de las lenguas otras.

    Situating ourselves in the context of the profound emerging conflict around the modes of production/appropriation of Nature that mark the contemporary epoch distinctly, in the present work we try to expose the ontological power-the politics of popular environmentalism, understanding it, rather than as dissident discourse, as a radically alternative language of valuation (Martínez Alier, 2002). A re-existent language (Porto Goncalves, 2003) that, instead of posing another language to speak about Nature, is offered as a language that seeks to understand us with Nature; even from and as Nature.

    In itself, rather than a minority language, it is a language that is radically denied as such. For we are faced with a system of enunciation and production of meaning which -from its origins to the present day- was systematically (badly) treated as non-language, that is, as something absolutely and insanably lacking logos.

    We analyzed this original dispossession as the foundational moment of the discourse that hegemonic Modernity/Coloniality established as a single presumed rationality to allude to and account on the “nature”. This discourse, which is erected from the (auto)attribution of the universal place of enunciation, has operated as a semiotic-political machine of uniformization of the world, which actually exists. As such, it is an event that can be located in the origins of the Capitalocene as one of its main etiological vectors. Beyond the significant changes that have taken place in the course of the successive historical declinations, we are interested in identifying a hard core of metaphysical presuppositions and institutional axioms that -We maintain that they continue to operate with relentless efficiency, as a regime of truth from which the boundary between the thinkable and the abyss of the absolute irrational is drawn.

    In a complementary way, we are particularly interested in analyzing the specific particularities of the neoliberal inflection of this discourse, conceiving it as part of the symptomatology of the present, and as an up-to-date discursive formation from which the renewed operation of challenging/expropriating the conditions of enunciation of the other languages takes place.
