    El tema de la mujer ha sido motivo de investigaciones exhaustivas, con el objetivo de rescatar del olvido la participación femenina en el arte; sin embargo, esta literatura surgió hace poco tiempo, por lo que aún se trabaja en dar a conocer las obras y contribuciones que hizo el género femeninoa lo largo de distintas épocas. En este artículo se repasa, a manera de reflexión, el papel de la mujer en la historia del arte para desvelar que ha sido opacada por el patriarcado, razón por la que en los programas de estudios universitarios no se les menciona.

    The theme of women has been the subject of extensive research, with the aim of rescuing from oblivion female participation in art; however, this literature emerged a short time ago, so we are still working on making known the works and contributions that the female genre made throughout different eras. This article reviews, as a reflection, the role of women in the history of art to reveal that she has been overshadowed by patriarchy, reason why they are not mentioned in university studies programs.
