Resumen de Valores profesionales del área de la salud

  En las Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES), la ética es un tema de relevancia en la creación de programas del área de la salud. La ética profesional le da sentido a cualquier profesión y satisface las demandas ticas y morales de la sociedad. Los valores profesionales son importantes en todas las profesiones, aún más en el área de ciencias de la salud. Son los directivos de las instituciones formadoras de recursos humanos en salud quienes deben asumir esta responsabilidad.

  El objetivo de la investigación fue analizar las concepciones de los directivos de instituciones del área de la salud de Mérida Yucatán sobre la ética profesional y los valores profesionales a fomentar en alumnos de esta área. El instrumento empleado fue la Escala de Valores profesionales (para profesores) de Anita Hirsch. La muestra fue de 30 directivos de instituciones y universidades del área de la salud en Mérida.

  Como resultados se determinó que un buen profesional debe ser responsable, tener valores éticos, honesto, respetuoso, entre otros valores. También consideran que es muy importante que la institución u universidad desarrolle valores profesionales en sus alumnos.

  In Higher Education Institutions (IES) in the area of health, ethics is a relevant issue in the creation of programs. Professional ethics gives meaning to any profession and satisfies the ethical and moral demands of society. Professional values are important in all professions, even more in the area of health sciences. It is the directors of the institutions that train human resources in health related areas who must assume this responsibility.

  The objective of the research was to analyze the conceptions of the directives of institutions of the health area in Merida, Yucatan on the professional ethics and the professional values to be fostered in students of this area. The instrument used was the Professional Values Scale (for teachers) of Anita Hirsch. The sample was of 30 directives of institutions and universities in the health area, in Merida, Yucatan.

  As results, it was determined that a good professional should be responsible, have ethical values, be honest, respectful, among other values. They also consider that it is very important for the institution or university to develop professional values in its students.
