Crónica, entre Buenos Aires y el “interior”.: Discurso y autorrepresentaciones en clave espacial durante sus primeros años (1963-1966)

    En 1963 Crónica se incorporó a un campo periodístico dominado por grandes empresas con altos valores cuantitativos de circulación y alcance a diferentes regiones del Argentina. Durante sus primeros años, este diario sentó las bases simbólicas y materiales que sustentaron una proyección empresarial de carácter nacional al que acompañó de un discurso que lo identificó con el pueblo, la “verdad” y la independencia periodística. Si bien en sus inicios solo tuvo edición vespertina, rápidamente cubrió la totalidad de la franja horaria y alcanzó una cobertura geográfica que excedió la ciudad de Buenos Aires. A partir del análisis crítico del discurso, nos proponemos identificar la naturaleza de las representaciones que Crónica construyó de sí mismo y su llegada territorial en clave espacial a lo largo de sus primeros tres años, poniendo en diálogo sus imágenes de diario ‘nacional’ y ‘porteño’. En este sentido, buscamos reconocer cómo el diario puso en tensión y diálogo las escalas local y nacional a la hora de representarse, considerando su alcance real.

    In 1963 Crónica joined a journalistic field dominated by large companies with high quantitative values of circulation and reach to different regions of Argentina. During its first years, this newspaper laid the symbolic and material foundations that supported a national business projection that was accompanied by a speech that identified it with the people, the “truth” and journalistic independence. Although in its beginnings it only had an evening edition, it quickly covered the entire time slot and reached a geo-graphical coverage that exceeded the city of Buenos Aires. From the critical analysis of the discourse, we intend to identify the nature of the representations that Crónica built of itself and its territorial arrival in a spatial key throughout its first three years, putting into dialogue its images of a ‘national’ and ‘national’ newspaper porteño’. In this sense, we seek to recognize how the newspaper brought tension and dialogue to the local and national scales when rep-resenting itself, considering its real scope.
